The pulp shade is made of 100% paper pulp, derived from a variety of natural sources such as cotton, sisal, jute and linen. It is completely recyclable and compostable in virtually every municipality. It can be disposed in your own backyard compost pile, breaking it down by hand into small pieces will help speed the degradation process.

The electrical components of the pulp lamp can be easily removed, simply unplug the lamp and lift the socket out of the socket holder. The socket is a standard ceramic E26 socket, and can be reused in many other lamps, or recycled at an appropriate electronics recycling center.
